Blue Sage 2015/16 Concert Series, Featuring Pianist David Vest
Location: Blue Sage Center for the Arts, 226 Grand Ave. Paonia, CO
Date: September 12th, 2015, 7:30 PM
The Blue Sage Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the premiere concert in its 2015/16
Concert Series welcoming Maple Award winning pianist David Vest. All around bad boy of
boogie-woogie and the blues, David Vest returns to the Blue Sage for a night of honky-tonk,
great storytelling, and foot-stompin’ fun! Vest is a fabulous roots-rocker and boogie-woogie piano
player, who can just as effortlessly play beautiful jazz and country blues ballads. His live shows
are legendary, and his career probably pre-dates rock and roll itself.
Each concert in the Blue Sage 15/16 Concert Series is themed around a particular genre. Travel
with us through time as the Blue Sage Concert Series kicks off with the genre of Modernism
where music hits the streets and is available in every home. With Modernism, jazz composers
ask individual musicians to explore a theme through improvisation. Join us on September 12th and
revel in the musical freedom of the 20th century where there’s no such thing as a wrong note.
Vest will also conduct a blues improvisation master class for keyboardists that will be open to the
public on Saturday, September 12th at 1:30 PM. Tickets for the master class ($5) and application
participant registration forms ($20) are available at the Blue Sage Gallery located at 226 Grand
Avenue in Paonia or by calling (970) 527-7243.
The Blue Sage Center for the Arts is a charitable 501(c)(3) organization located in Paonia, CO
