Hotchkiss Community Chamber of Commerce News, Information and Links
September 1, 2015

Compiled by Katherine Colwell – HCCC
Good morning Members and Friends,
September is chock full — Take a look ———
Unexpected emergencies arise. Accidents happen.
Be a North Fork Ambulance Business Supporter.

NFAA Business Membership covers customers during regular business hours, should an ambulance be needed. It’s not just about a ride to the hospital. It is about keeping emergency ambulance service responding from within each of our communities, which is good for life, and good for business.
It is a small contribution to make to keep ambulance service alive and well in the Valley. Without increased support we stand to lose stations in both Paonia & Crawford, which will increase response times considerably.
To show appreciation for your support, NFAA business members will be acknowledged as community supporters in newspapers and other media. And, an NFAA membership brochure rack and a “North Fork Ambulance Supporter” window decal will be hand delivered to all NFAA storefront business members.

SH 133 – MM 24 to MM 25.5 Rockfall Mitigation.
Yesterday, Monday, August 31, CDOT and Kissner General Contractors, Inc. restarted the rockfall mitigation project on State Highway 133, seven miles east of Somerset.  The approximately 1½-mile work zone (MM 24 to 25.5) is adjacent to the south end of the Paonia Reservoir.
The project will require up to 20-minute traffic holds with single-lane alternating traffic on SH 133. Traffic control will be in place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday until the project is complete.
Weekend work and longer hours are possible to expedite construction this season. During working hours, a 12-foot width restriction will be in place.
On Tuesday, September 8 and Thursday, September 10, SH 133 between MM 24 and 25.5, will be closed for five hours for rockfall work, weather permitting.
Closure dates will be indicated on variable message boards along the corridor, www.cotrip.org and the project hotline, 970-417-8150, in advance of the work. The full closures will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The next (regular) HCCC Board Meeting is Wednesday, October 28, 8:30 a.m. downstairs in Hotchkiss Library. Members and public are welcome.
Have a great week,
Katherine Colwell
HCCC Communications Secretary
